Bandhavgarh – Feb 2010

February 27th,2010

Did a quick trip to Bandhavgarh basically to look for the new cubs.  Finally, after a lot of attempts,  saw one cub in the last minute of the last safari .

In all the excitement, forgot I had a 1.7 TC and continued on the 1.4 TC !

Nikon D3, 600mm VR + TC 14, ISO 5000,  1/160th @ F5.6

And a few vultures from the Bandhavgarh Fort

Yes, I need to do another trip for the cubs 😉

Stay at Bandhavgarh: Tried a new place to stay called Camp Aranyaa . Decent rooms, wonderful food and great service. Highly Recommended.

  1. TIPS:

1.Rise early and get in line for entry.
    2. Trust your driver and guide. I assume you have good ones. If not, give me a mail and I could will help you with what I know.
    3. Take a bean bag
    4. Be prepared for dust , lots of it.
    5. Take a towel or something to drape over your camera when not being used.
    6. Dont take only closeups of them tigers, the background and the habitat is interesting as well.
    7. Do double check your settings before you shoot. I tend to miss some in the excitement since I didnt change back some setting from before. So good practice to change back settings to a neutral value after every change is done and shot completed.
    8. Get low and shoot.
    9. Wear full sleeves. A huge bandana and a cap are most needed as, can cover your head neck and face.
    10. Be warned, this tiger business can easily get to be a serious addiction 🙂
